1. Information We Collect

When you use FitSouq, we may collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Name, email address, and password when you register
• Profile data: Age, gender, weight, height, fitness goals, and activity level
• Health & fitness data: Calorie intake, meals logged, and nutrition information
• Photos: Food photos you take using the AI Snap feature (processed and not stored)
• Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version
• Usage data: Features you use and how you interact with the app

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and personalise the FitSouq calorie tracking service
• Calculate your daily calorie goal based on your profile
• Process AI food recognition via our secure API
• Connect you with personal trainers through our PT Marketplace
• Process payments for subscriptions and PT bookings
• Send important service notifications
• Improve app performance and fix issues

3. AI Snap & Track Feature

When you use the AI Snap feature to photograph food, the image is sent securely to Anthropic Claude API for analysis. The image is processed to identify food and calculate nutrition — it is not stored permanently on our servers after analysis is complete.

4. Personal Trainer Marketplace

When you book a personal trainer, we share your name and contact preferences with the trainer to facilitate your session. Trainers registered on FitSouq agree to our Partner Terms and are not permitted to use your information for any other purpose.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a secure cloud database provider. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Payment information is processed by Stripe and PayTabs — we do not store your full card details.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Supabase — secure database and authentication
• Anthropic — AI food recognition (images only, not stored)
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• Stripe / PayTabs — payment processing
• Personal Trainers — only when you book a session

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access all personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Opt out of marketing communications at any time

8. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

9. Children

FitSouq is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of FitSouq after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
